Bathtime!!

All the books I have ever read, talk about how "soothing" bath time is for baby. Not for my daughter- its PLAY time. Leah initially hated it but we figured out it was because she was hungry {new parents :)}. We have been using her tub up until about a month or so ago. Adam & I had to bathe her together because she is a crazy baby in her pink tub. Kicking, splashing, laughing - you name it. We put just enough water in it because if we had too much it ended up on us {it still did, but not as much}. I started putting her in the bathtub {in HER bathroom} and she enjoys it. Not near as much kicking & I do not get soaked. PLUS I can do it on my own which is great when I am by myself {OR adam can do it alone}. Grammie got her a bunch of bath toys and she love to play put them in her mouth.

Forming Friendships

I have already said Leah LOVES her Kate. She is always looking for her. It makes it hard to nurse her when she is wondering where the dang dog is. Kate has to watch because if she gets too close, Leah will pet {grab & pull} her. I love the relationship developing, of course it is mostly one sided as Kate really wants nothing to do with Leah. It does not stop Leah from trying. She is even talking to Kate when the dog is still for a period of time. LOVE IT!

They REALLY do grow up fast!!

Leah turns 6 months on Sunday and I can not believe it. I look at her "baby" pictures and am amazed at how much she has grown. Of course, she has blessed our family in so many ways. Adam & I love playing with her and watching her grow. She has so much personality and is always laughing. I weighed her last week (we have been sick with colds this week) and she weighed 18 lbs! I always thought Landyn was a big baby but Leah is not far behind her cousin. She has been sitting up for 2 weeks now. She can stand up and prop on things. She is holding her toys and is VERY interested in Kate. We have put up her swing & her mat. She loves her jumper and her feet finally reach the floor too.

Starting Traditions

One 4th of July, Adam & I decided to take a mini vacation down to Beufort SC. One of the pharmacists I used to work with said it was like a mini charleston but less busy. I would def call it a MINI, but it had my old southern houses scattered around so it was perfect. We stumbled apon a firework display in the town next to Beaufort and have been going back every year. This was our 4th year and this time we brought Leah. We were not planning to go because of schedules/ Leah's age etc, but the stars aligned and we went for a few days. It was special to have Leah there {last year she was in my belly, end of 1st trimester}. She enjoyed the fireworks. Of course - thursday Leah had her first fever & we were unable to go to the drive in with her..next year!!

Busy

One day I will be on top of this Project 52 {one can hope}, but I am just trying to enjoy the time I get with Leah. I am so happy that I get to spend a full 7 days with her every other week AND get to be the working mama too. Some weeks I do not even get a single picture and others the camera is always on her. She is already so interested in my phone as I am trying hard to capture moments with it when I dont have the big one out {and facebooking lol}. We had VBS this week and even though it was super busy I still managed to make some goodies. Adam was so very impressed that Leah was standing!!

ugh SLEEP

I have been so very grateful spoiled for the last several months, Leah has slept without a problem. We had a routine down- she went to bed around 10 {Late but it worked for us} and she slept till 10. WELL what happened- we went to beaufort, got sick, maybe a tooth plus shots to name a few AND my child's routine is DUN. She fights sleep all day or sleeps all day. At night time we lay down after we eat around 9:30 & {attempt} go to sleep. We did the whole cry it out thing, after 20 minutes of crying, I {adam too - bc I said so} give up. I get her up & we rock- she falls asleep I put her back in the crib. Is she asleep HAH no she wakes up screaming and we start all over!! We pick her up and she laughs & is ready to play bc she just got a 15 minute catnap. The doc yest gave us some tips {that we have already been doing so thanks} but basically said at around 6 months baby's mind are in full mode so sleeping is not a priority- I guess so.

So as I venture into week 2 of this new crazy NOT a schedule praying that we can get back to our eat play sleep cycles back. OH and I still have this crappy cold- its been 7 days!

Celebrating Father's Day

I was not able to give Adam his fathers day stuff as I was working the week prior and did not have a chance to make his gift. I follow a blog {religiously - styleberryblog.com} and LOVE LOVE it. She has a 2 yo daughter who she took pictures of holding the letters "daddy" and had them framed, her plan was to re-take the pictures each year. What a great idea that I tucked away and was excited to be able to do it with Leah. Father's Day will always be bittersweet for Adam- so I am going to try my hardest to make it extra special for him. He loved his "DAD" picture & I know will enjoy his golf that "we" got him.
