Motherhood is...

Emotional!
This week I got some terrible news about an old friend. His fiance had twins 3 days before I had Leah. Jhamar was always at my house during my high school years. He practically lived there. We rode the bus together until he was old enough to drive- then his car died. So once I was old enough I picked him up. I have lots of fond memories of him & when I heard that his son sufficated in his sleep DEVASTATED, HEARTBROKEN {to name a few adj} was how I felt.

I think it was more that it hit too close to home. I mean it just as easily been Leah {they are the same age}. Adam & I slept uneasy that night, but soon realized that God is in control. Jhamar has been in my thoughts daily since then & I continue to pray that God gives his family peace that surpasses understanding.

 Planning Ahead
Vacations with a baby definitely take some pre-planning. We drove down to Hilton Head for 2 nights this week for Adams cousin Samuel's wedding. I started packing tuesday when we were not leaving till thursday. How many diapers to bring, clothes to pack & what about extra sheets for her pack n play just in case. I am proud to say that I packed ALL our stuff (me & adam too) in 1 big suitcase. As we loaded the pilot, I couldn't help but wonder how people did this before the SUV. I wish I could have taken more pictures, but Leah & I were by ourselves most of the time so it didn't happen. I will say that Leah did great!! We played in the pool all day friday & she was a big girl at the wedding.

 Enjoying New Things!

I have been dying {JUST DYING} to get Leah in a pool! I even bought her a little one that she could play in at our house and well it didn't seem to interest her. It took 15ish minutes to get her ready to "sit" in the pool- thats ALL she did- no splash, nothing! So after like 5 minutes we went back inside. If you saw the queen of splash in the bathtub every night you would be disappointed too. Well this week, mom & I decided we all would come visit on saturday and play in her pool {a real one not my rinky dink blow up puddle}.  Leah was a natural in the water. She kicked her little feet like the prodigy child she is {haha}. We walked in slowly and then she just started kicking, splashing and just having a ball. It was a great end to the horrific {very busy}work week. ~Check out Leah's bathing suit {thanks Eden}

Setting Goals

Picture coming soon :)

Well the time has come that the last 5ish pounds need to come off {not to mention the extra 7lb that I dream of losing on top of it}. I have come to the realization that I need to cancel my jazzercise- I think I have been a handful of times since Leah was born. Its just too hard with her right now. The classes fall right when its time to feed or its nap time {last time she didnt sleep AT ALL = bad day}. I love love jazzercise but it just doesn't fit in my life at this current time, but don't worry I always come back! For now I am going to walk with Leah {and Kate if she is good}. I have been walking with my friend Allison & her son Eli {he is 6 weeks younger than Leah} and have really enjoyed the "mommy" time. Allison & I just talk and talk for a whole 6 miles. Sadly though we only do it 1 day a week and that is not going to be enough. I am going to have to make more trips on my own. And of course there is the whole not exercise when I am working thing that I have to figure out. I am going to "try" to pop in the 30 day shred a couple of times a week & maybe just walk the neighborhood {its only a mile though}. Time to start shredding those last few pounds. The crazy thing is my work pants are too big again- I really think my waste is smaller its just the extra skin {more like fat} in the way!
