Motherhood is...

Success!!

Leah did it she rolled over and now that she has its all she does. Of course I missed it as I was working. My mom {grammie} saw it first on monday- she initially got the look away and on my belly, but then did it a few more times. When Lu (grandma) got her the rest of the week she was doing it like an ol' pro. I of course came home each night and put a blanket down and was coaxing her to roll. She did it for me and this is a picture of her post roll. Adam said on friday she actually went front to back too!! Now because I am behind with this post (as I always am lol), my week by week book says babies actually roll front to back first and then weeks later back to front. Of course my child would be different {look at her parents-right}. Her doc said it was because she does not spend much time on her belly which is why she went the other way first. So as much as she hates it we are going to have tummy time to teach her to roll the other way.

How can you not love her...

Determination

Saturday night Leah rolled over for the 1st time. Of course I missed it - I laid her on her mat and ran upstairs to grab some dirty clothes (clearly havent learned my lesson about keeping an eye on her ALWAYS) and came back and my daughter (proud mama) was on her belly. I yelled with joy and picked her up and told her over and over she was so big- only slightly excited. This may be the 1st crazy mama moment but not the last that leah will see in her lifetime. I then called the grandmas and adam. Adam asked if I had recorded it, I laughed and told him I actually missed it.
All week she has tried to repeat her awesome milestone. Every chance she gets she is grunting with all her might to flip over - sadly she has not been successful. I am proud of her all the same and hopes this is just the beginning of her determination skills.

Hand-me downs

This week I got the mother load (ha- no pun intended) of boxes. My good friend/sorority little sister Brittany sent me a box full of baby clothes. AND being the OCD person that I am, I immediately went to organizing it, labeling boxes and washing what leah could wear. It was really fun going through the box as there was a few outfits I had bought Eden and now Leah will get to wear them (hopefully- depending on Leah's size/season).
I am learning that motherhood is all about "hand me downs" not just clothes but advice. I have only been a mom for almost 4 months (my goodness its been that long already) and I am already giving advice/suggestions. I have one friend who just had her first son and we are constantly exchanging tips. Another friend who just had a son a few weeks ago asking about things. I love the network that I am already developing. Of course I am asking advice (more like HELP) myself to these moms as well. Its all new and even if its your first or third I am learning every baby is different.

Lounging

Leah and I did lots of chilling this week while I was off. We didnt do much errands and to be honest I did not even do much cleaning. I just loved on my baby and she on me. I think some weeks we just need some mommy and me time. I know as the weeks/years go on the lounging times will be fewer so for now we will enjoy them.
